Weimer was hired in her current position in 1988. Because of the nature of the cultural resources in eastern Colorado, she quickly developed a passion for historical archaeology. As a generalist, though, she has experience in Midwestern, Southwestern and Plains prehistory. Weimer also has an enduring interest in ancient civilizations and has worked on tells and a Roman site in the Middle East. Her graduate work centered on the Maya. In addition to these geographic and culture area interests, she enjoys the challenge of Section 106 compliance and adverse effect resolution.
